Early of the month, I had a chance to join the opening ceremony of the new Toast Box store at Johor Jaya, Johor Bahru.
This grand opening is one of its most significant because it is the largest of its outlets which are 57 outlets in Singapore and 34 outlets in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines and Thailand, and thankfully, I managed to taste some of their local dishes and beverages.
So, here’s how the day was like…
Firstly, of course, a welcoming speech by the Senior Vice President of Toast Box (Global), Mr. Vincent Lim.
And followed by a speech by Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Liow Cai Tung (State Assembly Woman for Johor Jaya).
(L-R) James Quek (Chief Executive Officer of Bakery Division (Global), BreadTalk Pte Ltd), YB Liow Cai Tung & Vincent Lim make a toast with Traditional Nanyang Kopi to officiate the grand opening of Toast Box, Johor Jaya.
Vincent Lim showcases his Kopi pulling skill together with Toast Box’s coffee masters.
There’s the emcee. Didn’t catch his name but he was good at what he was doing.
Okay, yum-yum-yum time. LOL.
For appetizers, they’ve prepared:
My favourite is the Peanut Butter Thick Toast. Come on, who doesn’t like peanut butter? And readily on a piece of toast? Perfect for a snack. My kind of snack.
Next, we have the French Kaya Thick Toast. Just look at that yummy thing.
They also have Otah Baguette. For me, basically, it’s like Otak-otak buuuut, cooked and ready nicely. I’m actually not a fan of Otak-otak but this Otah have convinced me otherwise.
And for my main dish, I chose the Homemade Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken Rendang.
I really like the taste of the rendang. I actually wanted to eat all of it, but maybe I had a little too much of the toasts. Hahaaha.
For this food adventure, I had their Kopi.
But I also didn’t pass the chance to taste the Aloe Jelly.
After filling up my stomach and converse with some of the Media friends, we were shown how to use the simple coffee maker.
Then we got a tour of the outlet and let me tell you that it is one of the nicest store I’ve been too. Well, you can have a look yourself.
And check this out. You wash your hands here. LOL.
And the place is perfect for families too. They have a nursery room here.
One of the decorations that I like the most.
And there’s also a promotion…
